  Subtle Technologies: Poster Exhibition - Common Ground

As part of the Subtle Technologies symposium, the poster exhibition curated by Lorena Salomé showcased intriguing projects as well as fantastic interactive haptic holographic drum sessions in a work titled Haptic holography by Michael Page

With future scopes in surgical training, Haptic holography, being auto-stereoscopic, gives the user 'co-axial viewing'.

In addition to refreshments, the exhibition also gave us a chance to discuss posters and catch up with festival delegates.

The research presented in the exhibition included: World X Diagnostic, a conceptual art project that invites the public to evaluate the functioning of civil institutions in their home country following the wake of the 2008 World Financial Crisis;

Biopoiesis, a self-organising, analog computational device that harnesses electrochemical reactions;

UNDERPRESSURE  - a multidisciplinary project that attempts to mediate a social experiment and an embodying experience through the use of air pressure;

Heliotropika, a hybrid installation that integrates biological processes, environmental conditions and technological functions to create an interface between the visitors and a group of cyanobacteria. Using the photosynthetic activity of these micro-organisms, the dynamics of environmental light and the human bio-electrical activity the visitors and the cyanobacteria influence each other giving subsistence to a dynamic feedback system and;

Telematic Dinner Party, acts as physical platform for networked media supports live video streams, tele-robotic talking fish, gourmet cooking, Keystroke media mixing, wine-pouring machines, telematic toasts, party games, and a magic show; linking two dining rooms and thirty dinner guests across the ocean in a mediated mechatronic middle-space for social interaction and game-playing.
