GLOWING BACTERIA
updated by Laura Cinti - 07 May 2007

Glowing Bacteria - Transformation with Firefly Gene. The experiment objectives involved investigating transformation as a mechanism of genetic exchange, creating competent cells by chemically and thermally treating E.coli cells, inserting a plasmid containing firefly genes into competent E.coli cells and to determine if the transformation was successful by examining the cells for luminescence.
