REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGNER BABIES

2006

The world of designer babies, paternal uncertainty, desirable characteristics, DNA interventions and public opinions opened into ten minute presentations by nine speakers. The overall subject covered was limiting and overlapping.  All speakers used questionnaire methodology to conclude their findings.  Example of findings include: older women much more likely to perform extreme behaviours to improve child, research demonstrates possibility of designing children without A.R.T, no significant difference in male/female sacrifice for child but difference in type of sacrifice they were prepared to take, generation is related to our concepts of designing children and more education attainment is  likely to further child’s intelligent.
